BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February, 1970, [1]) is an American actress, producer and singer who is best famous for her performance as Melody "Mellie", Grant and the drama of ABC's Scandal (2012)-2018. She was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Most Outstanding Supporting actress in a Drama Series in 2014. She also starred in the Fox drama series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young began her professional career as an actor at the theatre. Her Broadway debut in the year 1997 as Mary in the original cast. [8][9] She has also been seen off-Broadway on Stephen Sondheim's show Merrily We Roll Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her television debut in a recurring role in"awkward" NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The year 1997 was the same and in 1998 she was a guest on two episodes on Law & Order. The year 1999 saw her debut in film with a small role in the crime-drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. Young began appearing on range of dramas on TV and comedy shows in the late 2000s. This were among them The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young appeared on more than thirty television shows between the years 2000 to 2011.
